Orange salad in their bark

Want to impress your little gourmands? This fruity dessert recipe with a hint of grenadine will make an impression!

For 4 people :

  • 5 thick skinned oranges
  • 60 g caster sugar
  • 1 tablespoon grenadine syrup
  • 5 soft, dry apricots
  • 4 small branches of fresh mint

Wash the oranges, cut four into two equal parts and horizontally.

Empty oranges completely from their pulp, without damaging them.

Cut the pulp into large dice by removing the membranes and pips.

Squeeze the juice of the fifth orange.

Put the diced pulp and the orange juice in a bowl with the powdered sugar and grenadine. Mix well.

Cut the dried apricots into small cubes, add them to the orange salad and mix.

Cover with stretch film and macerate 1 hour in the refrigerator.

Remove some bark at the base of each half-orange, using a knife, to make it more stable.

To serve, divide the orange salad and its juice in the orange peel. Poke a small branch of fresh mint in each of them.

Serve as fresh.

The small +: for adults, this salad can be made by replacing apricots with dates or raisins (previously dipped in tea or water) and grenadine with orange blossom water.
